Kia went back to the drawing board after killing off the Amanti luxury sedan in 2009. The Korean carmaker has learned a lot in the intervening years, and the Cadenza is proof-positive.
The front-wheel-drive Cadenza luxury sedan is an attractive, eye-catching entry in the segment. It is powered by an all-aluminum, direct-injection 293-horsepower V6, which is paired with a 6-speed Sportmatic automatic transmission. The result is an EPA estimated 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The Cadenza is offered in three nicely appointed trim levels -- Base, Premium and Limited.
The base Cadenza rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, and exterior goodies include projector beam headlights, heated mirrors, push-button start, leather seating with power adjustable driver and passenger seats, dual-zone climate control, an Infinity Audio system, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and audio streaming, rear camera display, and an 8-inch color touchscreen with navigation.
Premium trim adds a panoramic sunroof, power-fold mirrors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear parking sensors, and paddle shifters. Available on Premium trim is a Luxury Package, which adds HID adaptive headlights, a heated tilt/telescopic steering wheel, rear heated outboard seats, rear cross-traffic alert, a blindspot monitor, and Napa leather seating with driver's side ventilation and extendable seat cushion.
